FFDShow- a reliable open source software to decode MPEG4 and DivX files. FFDShow seems to be really useful especially for the following two groups of users: firstly for those who have relatively old hardware, and/or for those whose software cannot cope with DivX format.
The program is filter that decodes videos. It is a great tool for advanced users (because it has many options that can be modified) and for common users (as it can work immediately after installation). So that, everybody can make FFDShow matching their individual expectations.
The other advantages of the app are: licence, library (libavcodec) and intuitive interface.
So, that open source application is a tool for everyone who search for a cheap and universal tool for managing video files. Whether we use FFDShow with a few other media tools, we will create a poweful media base.
